Victim Identified in Fatal State Road 52 Crash
A Palm Harbor man died Monday after driving into the path of an oncoming Mack truck.

LAND O’ LAKES, FL — The Florida Highway Patrol has released the name of the 46-year-old Palm Harbor man killed in a Monday morning crash on State Road 52.
According to the agency, Kurt Arno Meske was heading eastbound in a Volkswagen Passat just after 11 a.m. when he entered the westbound lanes for reasons unknown. Meske’s car drove into the path of an oncoming Mack Vision driven by William Earl Bailey, 52, of Port Saint Lucie, the patrol said in a report.
The two vehicles collided with Meske suffering fatal injuries.

Bailey’s truck jackknifed, left the road and landed in a canal, the report said. The truck was carrying roof trusses at the time of the accident.
Meske died at the accident scene. Bailey suffered minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

No charges were filed in the accident.
