How do you get accepted into an art show?

There are many kinds of art shows open to photographers at all levels of proficiency, from open submissions, local venues such as art centers and libraries, to juried entries usually through competitions. Finding the right fit, location and themes must follow a careful research into the history of a particular show, the judge’s background if applicable, and most importantly your personal budget. First, one must decide on the personal desired outcomes for entering into a show, bragging rights, local exposure or a long journey towards establishing an artistic career.

This presentation will address the many avenues and decision-making needed to make successful choices, select the right image(s) for a precise submission and ensure that your personal goals are met within a personal financial budget. Art shows and competitions are nowadays shark infested murky waters and therefore a sensible and informed approach to art show submissions may well save much disappointments and frivolous expenses.
