Pasco Sheriff: Wesley Chapel Shooting Was Targeted Execution
Pasco County Sheriff's detectives are currently investigating execution-style shooting in Wesley Chapel.
WESLEY CHAPEL, FL -- Pasco County Sheriff's detectives are currently investigating what Sheriff Chris Nocco described as the "targeted execution" of a tile setter working on a home under construction.
Nocco said Heans Gianni Alvarez, 46, and two fellow workers arrived at the house at 28401 Marsciano Lane near Estancia at Wiregrass off Chancey Road at about 7:30 a.m. and were taking a lunch break in the garage of the home at 12:49 p.m. when Alvarez was shot to death.
"It was a targeted execution," said Nocco. "Two black males came into the garage, walked past a witness, tapped Alvarez on the leg, pointed a gun and executed him,"

Nocco said the killers never said a word. After killing Alvarez, the shooter aimed his gun at one of the witnesses and both co-workers ran out of the garage. The killers then got into a dark-colored sedan and drove away.
"We don't know why or how they knew him, or how they knew he'd be at this location," said Nocco.

He said Alvarez didn't have time to react.
"It seems like they just caught him by surprise," he said. "They had no beef with anybody else. They were just targeting Mr. Alvarez."
Nocco said detectives have found no crime history for Alvarez who came to the United States from Cuba.
The shooters are described as light-skinned black men, 5 feet 3 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall with short, braided hair.
The entry to the gated community was open at the time the men drove in. Nocco said detectives are hoping someone will call with information or they will locate surveillance video from one of the surrounding occupied homes in the subdivision.
"We need answers. But nobody's provided any information so far," he said.
