What Tampa Bay Towns Are the 'Most Redneck?'
A recent rundown of Florida's '10 Most Redneck Cities' didn't have much local representation.

When it comes to towns with a “redneck” feel, Tampa Bay communities don’t rank high in the state of Florida.
That’s according to the folks at RoadSnacks, the website dedicated to showing people “the real side of places that not everyone wants to hear.” The writers there recently sat down and crunched data related to 206 Sunshine State towns with populations under 25,000 to compile its list of the most redneck places. Metrics included the number (or lack thereof) of high school graduates, the number of “dive bars,” mobile home parks, gun and ammo stores, Walmart locations, Bass Pro Shops and so on.
When those numbers were crunched, Okeechobee came out in the No. 1 spot followed by Clewiston. Arcadia made the list at number three while Brooksville came in seventh place.

Brooksville earned its rankings courtesy of having the second highest number of mobile home parks in the state, the fifth highest density of gun stores per capita for small towns and the sixth highest number of tobacco stores, according to RoadSnacks.

While it did earn Top 10 honors, RoadSnacks’ writers pointed out “the high school graduation rate is higher here than any other city on this list.
“No one said rednecks were not smart,” the entry notes. “The dictionary definition says they mostly work blue collar jobs, but let’s be real, a lot of rednecks went to college and have great jobs. They enjoy shooting things and blowing stuff up.”
Although Tampa Bay area communities didn’t make the Top 10 portion of the list, some have honorable mentions. Wimauma ranked 25, followed by Masaryktown in 26 place. Seffner was also mentioned with an 81st-place ranking.
