While the presidential election will be the top story in the November election, the race for Pasco County Sheriff might be a close second on the local scene. It’s already a hot topic as Primary Day draws closer.

When voters go to the polls Tuesday, Aug. 14, they’ll narrow the field from four candidates for sheriff to two. Democrat Kim Bogart is already guaranteed a spot on the Nov. 6 general election ballot since his competition, Larry Roberts, did not qualify.
