Wrong-Way Driver Approached Deputy Head-On, Officials Say
The Land O' Lakes woman was going east in the westbound lanes of Citrus Park Drive.

A 48-year-old Land O’ Lakes woman faces DUI charges after a Hillsborough County Sheriff’s deputy pulled her over going the wrong way on Citrus Park Drive.
According to the sheriff’s office, a deputy encountered the woman around 3:09 a.m. Wednesday. The woman was driving eastbound in the westbound lanes of Citrus Park Drive at Citrus Plaza Drive.
The deputy had no trouble spotting the woman, an email to media from the agency stated.

“The vehicle was coming head-on at the deputy in her lane of travel at the intersection,” the email stated.
The deputy quickly changed her path and the on-coming vehicle moved back into the correct lane, the email said.

When the deputy pulled the woman over, a DUI investigation was conducted. The woman had blood-alcohol content levels of .142 and .139, the email noted. A motorist is considered impaired in Florida with a blood alcohol level of .08 or higher.
Martha Ocasio of Land O’ Lakes was charged with driving under the influence.
Ocasio remained in the Hillsborough County Jail Wednesday morning in lieu of $500 bond.
