Zephyhills Woman Killed In Motorcycle Crash

ZEPHYRHILLS, FL – A passenger on a motorcycle was killed in a rear-end collision in Pasco County April 1.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Karen E. King, 45, of Zephyrhills was a passenger on a 2003 Kawasaki motorcycle ridden by Mark E. Loveitt, 57, also of Zephyrhills.

The motorcycle collided with the rear end of a 1999 Honda Civic driven by 17-year-old Samantha Marie Sweet of Wesley Chapel. She had been stopped in traffic on State Road 54 at Morris Bridge Road.

King died at the scene. Loveitt was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital with serious injuries. Both had been wearing helmets.
