Zephyrhills Man Shot Trying To Stop Bike Theft

Pasco County Sheriff's detectives are continuing to search for the man who shot a 66-year-old Zephyrhills resident Monday night, July 9.

ZEPHYRHILLS, FL -- Pasco County Sheriff's detectives have arrested a man who reportedly shot a 66-year-old Zephyrhills resident Monday night, July 9, while stealing a bicycle.

The sheriff's office received a call around 8:20 p.m. that a man had been shot at 37850 Newal Drive in Zephyrhills. Kyle James Fowler, 33, of Laforce Street in Zephyrhills, is accused of striking the victim and shooting him in the shoulder while attempting to steal his bicycle. The victim was taken to the hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.

Fowler fled the scene and was arrested Tuesday, July 10.
