1 Dead, 4 Injured Following Wrong-Way Crash

The Florida Highway Patrol says alcohol was a factor in a fatal wrong-way crash Sunday, March 25, that killed a St. Petersburg woman.

LARGO, FL -- The Florida Highway Patrol says alcohol was a factor in a fatal wrong-way crash Sunday, March 25, that killed a St. Petersburg woman.

According to the FHP, Ambreuna L. Brown, 26, of St. Petersburg was driving her 2014 Hyundai Sonata north on 66th Street North, approaching the intersection of 118th Avenue North at about 11:20 p.m. when she crossed into the southbound lanes and struck a 2014 Toyota Camry.

The Camry was driven by Ryan Matthews, 18 of St. Petersburg, who had three passengers in his car.

The FHP said Brown was taken to Bayfront Health where she died. Matthews and his passengers -- 16-year-old Vivian Antenucci, 17-year-old Shelly Melendez Matos and 17-year-old Jacob Hutfilz – were hospitalized with serious injuries.
