75-Year-Old Man Arrested For Sexual Assault Of 2 Largo Girls

Pinellas County Sheriff's detectives have charged a Middleburg man with two counts of capital sexual battery of two Largo girls.

LARGO, FL -- Pinellas County Sheriff’s detectives have charged a Middleburg man with two counts of capital sexual battery of two Largo girls between the ages of 5 and 8.

Levern Brown, 75, reportedly committed the assaults at a home in unincorporated Largo between December and February when he had familial authority over the girls.

Pinellas detectives began their investigation on July 6 after the victims told an adult about the encounters.

Upon investigating Brown, detectives discovered he has been a registered sexual offender since 2005.

On July 21, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office arrested Brown for one count of lewd/lascivious molestation with a victim under 12 that occurred in Jacksonville’s jurisdiction.

Once Brown was in custody, Pinellas sheriff’s interview him on July 24 at the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Department of Corrections in Jacksonville where Brown admitted to the allegations.

After presenting the case to the Pinellas-Pasco County State Attorney’s Office, Pinellas detectives issued a warrant for two counts of capital sexual battery. The warrant was served Brown by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office at the Department of Corrections on Thursday, July 26.

Brown will be transferred to the Pinellas County Jail at a later date.
