Big Brothers Big Sisters of Pinellas County Invites You to Match 100!
Our Newest Campaign Presented by Bright House Networks
For more than 45 years, the words ‘Big Brothers Big Sisters’ have rang throughout communities all over the world. You’ve seen our billboards, you recognize our logo, and you’ve heard people say the name of our agency a million times. It’s evident that we work with children, but truthfully, you are unaware of our mission. We would like to present the opportunity for you to familiarize yourself with what we really do.
January 30th of 2013 marks the day we will reintroduce you to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Pinellas County. Not through a lengthy presentation or a 20-minute speech, but with balloons, music and enormous smiles to celebrate the launch of our new campaign, Match 100 presented by Bright House Networks. As our newest “friends asking friends” campaign, Match 100 will virtually ignite a spark in our community to raise $100,000, remove 100 children from our waiting list and recruit 100 new volunteers.
We invite you to help us succeed in our ongoing mission to provide children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported one-to-one relationships that change their lives for the better, forever. These relationships influence our youth to pursue the right path in life, help to fulfill their personal potential and ultimately change the future of our community.
Big Brothers Big Sisters has been helping children and families in Pinellas, Hernando and Citrus Counties for more than 45 years. On average our agency serves 1,500 children each year and with the cost of making and supporting one new match at approximately $1,200; funds are imperative to serving more children.
In the past, you may have heard of “Bowl For Kids Sake,” a campaign composed of fundraising teams and a bowling tournament benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters. Although it was a great success, its age and growing disconnect from our mission encouraged us to introduce Match 100 to our community.
Please join us for good eats, games, prizes and special guest performances as we kick off our new campaign at the Largo Community Center Ballroom located at 400 Alternate Keene Road Largo, FL 33771. The event is open to the public and will be held on January 30th, from 6 PM to 7 PM.
Feel free to further educate yourself on our most recent endeavor by visiting the Match 100 website at https://bbbspc.myetap.org/fundraiser/match1002013/. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Pinellas County hopes you will be encouraged to START SOMETHING.
