Arrest Made in Seminole Hit-and-Run

The crash left a Largo man in serious condition.

A 44-year-old Seminole man has been charged in connection with a Wednesday hit-and-run crash that left a Largo motorcyclist in serious condition.

The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office said in an email to media that Daniel McCaslin was arrested around 6:30 p.m. Thursday in Treasure Island.

He has been charged with leaving the scene of a crash with serious bodily injury and leaving the scene of a crash with property damage.

McCaslin was being held Friday morning on $5,250 bond at the Pinellas County Jail, according to jail records.

The crash in question took place Wednesday around 9:50 p.m. as a Harley Davidson drive by Randy Deane, 55, of Largo was heading northbound on Seminole Boulevard. Deputies say a silver sedan heading southbound crossed into Deane’s path, causing the crash.

The driver did not stop, deputies said.

Deane was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
