Turning Change into Positive Change
You could create positive change with the change lying about your house, and it's as easy as dumping it out.
Do you have a bunch of change sitting around somewhere?
Do you find change on the road all the time?
Do you come home and empty out all the change in your pocket on the dresser everyday only for it to get lost in the carpet or behind the dresser?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, I have just the thing for you to create positive change.
Most grocery stores, actually many many grocery stores, have a machine that counts money for you. Then it gives you a receipt to have the store give you that money. Now I know what you’re thinking, those machines count your money and then they take a certain percentage of it. Yes, you are absolutely right.
There are many types of machines, one of the more popular is the Coinstar variety of change machines.
You take all the change, dump it in the machine, and it counts it for you. What many people don’t realize is that it also gives you the opportunity to donate your change to a large list of charities and non-profit organizations. But even cooler, they don’t take any percentage out of the money that you donate when you donate it.
Every machine is different and every machine has different charities. The one by me has these charities:
Ronald Mcdonald House, Unicef,World Wildlife Federation, Red CRoss, Autism Speaks, Feeding America, Humane Society, Big Brothers, Big Sisters, Children's miracle network, and the Audobon society
Who knew donating money to worth wild and awesome charities would be this easy. So now all that change that just accumulates and accumulates around you, you can take it to one of these machines and thereby create positive change.
Now,you know me, I love to run the numbers on these types of things:
If 1 person had $5/wk (this is the average amount of change the avg person accumulates or finds in a week) and they donated this…that would be $20/mo or $240/yr for a charity you truly believe in. Now there are 80 people that currently follow this blog…what if only 1/10 did this every week. That would mean $1920/yr would be donated to charities. WOW! Thats a lot of positive change being created, especially since most charities need about $20 per day to keep their doors open.
However, let’s take this one step further, what if you organized a “change for change” drive at your place of business, your church, or a local school? Another idea, how about if you created a change for change drive at a local Girl scout or Boy Scouts chapter, what if you did it just with your kids?
You would be an awesome positive role model.
You would be educating future generations.
Also, kids love these machines. They love pouring the change in. They love hearing the machine counting the money. They love pushing the buttons on the toich screen. Also, when the kids get involved…they find every piece of change in a 2 mile radius of you and tour house. They can find change everywhere-and they do!
Then you could take the kids to these charities’ local site around you, and the kids could see what their change is doing for the people that are helped by this charities. They can see what their efforts and money is actually doing.
Youre now creating intergenerational positive change! Wow…a bunch of kids now taught that they can do amazing things to help people…with just the change they find on the ground and in the couch.
There are so many ways you can create positive change with the change on the ground.
What other ways could you create positive change with change?
