The City of Largo invites residents to attend Community Town Hall: How Property Taxes Fund City Services on Wednesday, September 9, from 6–7:30pm at Horizon West Bay, 440 West Bay Drive.
The event will explain how property taxes support City services, how potential revenue reductions could affect the City budget and service levels, and how policy decisions connect to the local community.
The program will include a presentation followed by a moderated panel discussion and Q&A. Residents may submit questions before or during the event at Largo.com/YourTaxDollar. In-person attendees may also submit questions using comment cards. Questions will be grouped by topic and directed to the appropriate panelists.
Former Florida Senator Jeff Brandes will provide a policy perspective and help answer community questions. Brandes is the founder and president of Florida Policy Project, a nonprofit policy institute focused on research, data and practical solutions for a stronger Florida.
The moderated panel will also include:
- Mayor Woody Brown
- City Manager John Curp
- Largo Police Chief Mike Loux
- Largo Fire Rescue Chief Matt Carpenter
