The Largo Woman’s Club invites members and guests to attend our monthly meeting on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. at Royal Palms, located at 200 Lake Ave. NE, Largo, FL 33771.
Members and guests are welcome to join us and enjoy a light lunch for a nominal fee.
Our guest speaker will be Catalina Gonzalez from Ready for Life. She will share how Ready for Life changes lives beyond foster care by providing a caring environment and wraparound services to resilient young adults who age out of the foster care system with little to no support. The Largo Woman’s Club is dedicated to promoting the charitable, educational, and civic progress of the City of Largo, while fostering friendship, community involvement, and service. FROM CLASSICS TO POPS – Our opening program will include a wide range of beloved melodies and will feature pieces from the classical literature (such as Haydn’s “The Lark” Quartet) plus American standards (“Over the Rainbow”) and ending with the passionate Latin tune (“Libertango”) by Astor Piazzola. This group and these selections will sound wonderful in the excellent acoustics of the historic Peace sanctuary. 
WHO: THE BAY STRING QUARTET: Merinn Jacobs, violin; Julie Tollen, violin; Lauren Collier, viola; and Hernan Alvarez, cello.These accomplished musicians all perform with the Tampa Bay Symphony, concertizing regularly in the Tampa Bay area and under the direction of renowned local maestro Mark Sforzini.
WHERE: Peace Memorial Presb. Church (the pink church downtown) 110 S. Ft. Harrison Ave., Clwr. (corner of Pierce and Ft. Harrison). Doors open at 2:30.

St. Petersburg Police Find Body of Black WomanClaim Death Was Suicide by Hanging

You are&nbsp;invited to attend a press conference sponsored by the International People’s Democratic Uhuru Movement(InPDUM). They will discuss the suspicious death of Syriah Henderson on July 1, 2026. The InPDUM is currently investigating the death of Henderson as a homicide. Henderson was found hanging from a tree behind the Dollar Tree store at 3426 Central Avenue. The St. Petersburg Police Department has determined that the death was a suicide. We are suspicious of the Police Department findings.We recognize that between 1877 and 1950, more than 4,000 African people were lynched with impunity in the United States. Based on this history, InPDUM is compelled to hold this press conference. 
Nevela Williams, mother of Syriah Henderson, as well as International People’s Democratic Uhuru Movement leaders will speak at the press conference.

Hundreds of Tampa Bay residents are invited to join <a href="https://www.mobilize.us/nokings/event/1026318/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">No Kings: Vote Early</a>, a voter engagement event on Saturday, Oct. 17, at Spa Beach Park at the St. Pete Pier.
Beginning at 10 a.m., participants will gather on the beach to form giant human letters spelling "VOTE EARLY," creating a dramatic aerial image and video to encourage eligible voters to plan to participate in the 2026 midterm election.
The St. Petersburg gathering is part of No Kings: Vote Early, a nationwide day of voter participation focused on helping eligible voters understand when, where, and how they can cast their ballots.
Community organizations will be on-site to provide information about early voting, vote-by-mail, and other voting options. Nonpartisan voter guides will also be available to help attendees learn more about the candidates and races on the ballot.
"We want to make sure people understand how important it is to participate in this election and know their options for voting early," said Kelly Harter, event organizer. "Midterm elections are historically ignored. We cannot afford to stay home anymore. When we surrender our vote, we surrender our power. &nbsp;We want people to come out, get informed, and be part of this important community event. Everyone is welcome."
Early voting in Pinellas County begins Monday, Oct. 19, and continues through Sunday, Nov. 1, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.
A Visual Call to Vote Unlike a traditional march or rally, the Spa Beach event will center on creating the large-scale "VOTE EARLY" formation.
Participants will be assigned to individual letters and seated on the sand for approximately 30 minutes while aerial photographs and video are captured. Attendees are asked to wear dark blue or black shirts and hats and bring a dark beach towel, sunglasses, and water. Signs are discouraged because they could interfere with the aerial image.
Parking is available at the St. Pete Pier and in the surrounding areas, but it is limited. Carpooling and rideshare services are encouraged.
EVENT DETAILS WHAT: No Kings: Vote Early WHEN: Saturday, Oct. 17, 2026, at 10 a.m. WHERE: Spa Beach Park at the St. Pete Pier, 615 Second Ave. NE, St. Petersburg, FL 33711 VISUAL: Hundreds of participants forming the words "VOTE EARLY" on Spa Beach for aerial photography and video ATTIRE: Dark blue or black shirts and hats; participants should bring a dark beach towel, sunglasses, and water. AFTER PARTY: Attendees are encouraged to stay after the visual event to enjoy a beach day community picnic on the grassy area and beach. (BYOC - bring your own cooler.)
Participants should arrive by 10 a.m. to be organized into the human formation.
