Canning Basics: Preserving Florida's Harvest

Visit the Largo Public Library for a free informational class that covers the basics of food preservation.

Visit the Largo Public Library on Tuesday, February 16th at 6:00pm for a free informational class that covers the basics of food preservation. The class will focus on recommended canning equipment, safety concerns, and different preserving techniques used in water bath and pressure canning. The presenter, Lisa Fulk, is the owner of Sunshine Canning and a Cornell certified Master Food Preserver.

Whether you’re interested in creating unique jams, pickling different vegetables, or putting up soups and meats for shelf-stable meals, this will be a good starting point in your canning journey! Lisa will bring samples of home-canned goods for people to try after the class!
