Jazz clarinetist and Benny Goodman alumnus Ken Peplowski is featured with the highly acclaimed Capitol Center Jazz Orchestra in celebrating the 75th anniversary of Benny Goodman's historical 1938 Carnegie Hall Concert. This historic and revolutionary performance claimed a new place for jazz on the American cultural scene and has come to be seen as the most important jazz concert in history. This incredible evening of music will feature numerous classics from Goodman's historic 1938 performance, including Don't Be That Way, Memories of You and the iconic Sing, Sing, Sing. His hit songs Dream Weaver has been featured in many movies including the Wayne's World feature film, The People vs. Larry Flynt and Toy Story 3. Gary Wright has continued to have success on the Billboard charts with Really Wanna Know You in 1981 and in 1986, he contributed the song Hold On to Your Vision on the soundtrack of Sylvester Stallone's movie Cobra. Better By You, Better Than Me, a song written by Wright, was also covered by Judas Priest on their 1978 album Stained Class. Gary Wright has continued to produce and create records through the decades and you may have seen him recently in 2008 and 2010 touring with Ringo Starr & His All Starr Band. Pet owners are permitted to bring their dogs to enjoy a swim but as directed by the Pinellas County Health Department, owners will not be permitted to enter the water. Owners can enjoy our concessions from Splash's Snack Bar and sponsor displays. Owners will need to provide proof of vaccination for the dog upon admission. Slides will not be open; plenty of activities and contests. Discount swim on Oct 6 for all dogs from Oct 5 event with special token.

The Buddy Walk was established by the National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS) to promote acceptance, awareness and inclusion of people with Down syndrome (DS) and to celebrate Down Syndrome Awareness Month in October. It has evolved into the single largest awareness vehicle for DS worldwide. At least 250,000 people are expected to participate in over 250 walks this year! Event Description
Ambrosia, 5-time Grammy nominee in 1970s and early 1980s, and had five Top 40 hit singles including "Biggest Part of Me," "How Much I Feel" and "You're the Only Woman," will return to the Largo's stage. Opening the show will be Twinkle Schascle and her band. Twinkle is an international singer-songwriter who released her first debut album, "Haunted By Real Life," through Warner Brothers and was produced by songwriter Patrick Leonard. The album garnered much attention on the pop and jazz charts. Her music video, "Can't Get Love With Money" was featured on VH1 where she was a guest VJ on the Top 21 countdown.
