LARGO, FL — The driver of a car had to be rescued from his swamped vehicle by Largo firefighters Friday after he drove into a hole filled with water at Bay Cove apartments.

A construction crew working in the area ruptured a water line, flooding the hole.

The driver, who didn’t realize the depth of the water, was taken to a local hospital as a precaution.
