East Bay Drive Lanes Closing Over the Weekend
Drainage work in the area is forcing the closing that starts Friday evening.
Motorists who normally travel eastbound on East Bay Drive might want to find a new route through the weekend.
The Florida Department of Transportation has announced the eastbound lanes between Missouri Avenue and Central Park Drive will close for drainage work starting at 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9. The road is expected to be open by 5 a.m. Monday. The closing does not impact the westbound lanes.
FDOT said detour signs will direct vehicles through the work zone and the plan is to make certain access to local businesses, Largo Central Park and residential properties is not hampered.

Ajax Paving Industries is making improvements to East Bay Drive between Missouri and Highland Avenue. The $2.7 million project got under way in June and is anticipated to be completed by the year’s end.
