Escape the Ordinary - Adult Summer Reading at Largo Public Library

Not all heroes wear tights and capes and not all summer reading programs are just for kids. Why should they have all the fun?

  • Be a Super Reader, June 1 – July 31. Sign up to participate in this summer reading promotion! Prizes awarded by drawing once per month.
  • Who’s Your Hero? Essay Contest, June 1 – July 31. Do you have someone that’s influenced your life for the better? Tell us about your personal hero! Your essay should be no more than 500 words. Winners will be announced on August 7. All submissions must be emailed to largolibrarycontest@gmail.com.
  • Name that Hero, June 1 – June 26. Visit Largo Public Library each week this summer to answer a multiple choice question about heroes, real or make-believe. All correct answers will be entered into our weekly drawing for a library prize pack.
  • Villain vs. Villain Tournament, July 6 – July 31. June was all about heroes, July is about the other guys. Which villain do you think will be victorious? We’ll have a tournament of sixteen villains from movies, books, and graphic novels. Fill out your bracket, then cast your vote in the weekly villain tournament. There are two ways to win. You win if your bracket is completely correct at the end of the tournament. You can also win weekly prizes if you cast your vote for a winning villain.

Largo Public Library is located at 120 Central Park Drive, Largo, FL 33771.
