Bird-watching is not only a hobby, but it also provides a window on the rest of the natural world. This walk, designed for beginners, starts with a short talk on the basics and practice on using binoculars, then on to a walk searching for birds along the preserve’s trails. The walk is approximately one mile so sturdy closed-toe shoes are a must, and water and a hat are recommended. This free activity is geared for adults and children 8 or older. Preregistration is required; online registration closes 24 hours before the activity start time. Register by visiting www.pinellascountyextension.org, clicking the Registration button, then the Brooker Creek tab. For event information call (727) 453-6800; for more registration information call (727) 582-2100. Please check in at the front desk
