On Tuesday, May 15 at 5pm the City of Largo and Largo Recreation, Parks & Arts Department welcome the community to the groundbreaking ceremony of the new Highland Recreation Complex. Join us in celebrating the start of this much anticipated, state-of-the-art recreation facility. Design plans will be on display and staff will be on site to answer any questions on the new building and its many features. Light refreshments will be served.
The 40,000-square-foot facility will feature an indoor running track, 3-story indoor playground, ExerPlay! Room (digital/interactive fitness games), and more. The building was designed by Tampa architects, Gould Evans and is being built by Creative Contractors of Clearwater.

The current Highland Recreation Complex and Highland Family Aquatic Center will remain open to the public during construction. The completion of the new Highland Recreation Complex is set for May, 2013.

The groundbreaking ceremony will take place at the current Highland Recreation Complex location (400 Highland Ave, Largo 33770). The main entrance off of Highland Avenue is currently closed.
