Heart Valve Replacement Health Seminar

Join Morton Plant Mease cardiologists Todd Kovach, M.D., and Michael Barry, M.D., physician members of the Morton Plant Hospital Valve Clinic team, to learn more about heart valve problems and a new heart valve procedure called transcatheter aortic valve replacement surgery (TAVR), for patients with severe aortic stenosis.

The new procedure is a breakthrough treatment option for patients who were previously considered inoperable to treat severe aortic stenosis. Aortic stenosis is a disease process that affects the aortic valve of the heart. In the later stages of the disease, the valve does not properly open and close, causes the heart to work harder to push blood through the calcified aortic valve, weakens the heart’s muscles and increases the patient’s risk for heart failure.
