Five Great Largo Coffee Joints That Aren't Starbucks

Sure you can opt for quickness and consistency of big franchise coffee joints like Starbucks, but you might be missing out on something great.

Don't get us wrong, there’s nothing wrong with a big cup of joe from big coffee corporations like Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts. But there’s something incredibly charming and homey about a well-run, mom and pop-type coffee shop that we'd be missing out on if we didn't look around.

They might not have the sleekest décor or amenities like drive-throughs that these big chains can afford, but done right, they can be a great epicenter of culture and camaraderie in the neighborhood.

Here are five coffee joints around Largo carrying that independent spirit in each of their own in unique ways.

Coffee and pastries are like beer and wings, milk and cookies, cokes and cheeseburgers. The combination of the two creates something greater than each of parts.  What’s even better, is if these pastries are home made.  Frida’s does just that every morning.  With a slew of fresh baked treats from scones to danishes to cinnamon buns and macaroons, Frida’s will overwhelm you with their selection of edible, coffee accompaniments.  And the coffee, Frida’s own house blend, comes in a variety of forms – espressos, americanos, iced, and even fresh by the pound – which will surely perk you right up in the dreary morning.
