Flu prevention during peak season
Winn-Dixie pharmacies offer each customer the right level of protection for flu season

Seven weeks into the average 13-week flu season, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports influenza activity is continuing at elevated levels with 43 states having high or widespread flu activity. It also still recommends that people should receive a flu shot to help protect themselves from the flu, or at the very least, lessen flu symptoms.
Winn-Dixie offers four convenient options for the influenza vaccine to ensure each customer receives the right level of protection. One can choose between a standard vaccination or an intradermal influenza vaccination administered with a microneedle that is 90-percent smaller than traditional needles. Those looking for added protection can select the high-dose option if theyβre 65 years of age and older or the Quadravalent vaccination that protects against four different strains of the virus, as compared to the standard three.
βOur Winn-Dixie pharmacy offers customers a quick, convenient and friendly environment to take control of their health,β said John Fegan, Winn-Dixie pharmacy vice president. βOur pharmacists are available to answer any questions, and to help ensure that each customer chooses the best vaccine option to help protect themselves and their families from the virus.β
