Four Largo Wrestlers Place At State Championships
C.J. Johnson, Clarence Longley, Cody McKinnon and Josh Jefferies all finish in the top six at The Lakeland Center.
LAKELAND — The Largo Packers had four wrestlers place Saturday in the Class 3A division of the FHSAA state wrestling championships at The Lakeland Center.
C.J. Johnson, who competed 152-pound class, finished second in the state, while Clarence Longley (135) took third place, Cody McKinnon (140) finished in fifth and Josh Jefferies (145) placed sixth.
"We did really well," coach Jeremy Frioud said. "C.J. Johnson has nothing but heart. People were saying he couldn't win, but he didn't listen to what they said. We came in and beat up on some people."
