Gifted Violinist Sofia Deschler Earns Musical Achievements

School: Ridgecrest Elementary

Accomplishment: Sofia Deschler earned the principal, second violin in the area's Symphonic Strings. She also won second place in the Music Gallery Strings Jr. Elementary Division Competition.

Keys to Awesomeness: Sofia Deschler is a gifted student and musician. With an infectious smile, she is a friendly and outgoing girl.

Like other kids her age, she enjoys swimming and drawing. In pursuing her musical talents and academic successes, Sofia shows an independence remarkable for someone so young.

Sofia is a gifted student, working at a third grade level in math, writing and reading while in the first grade. She participates in a gifted Spanish immersion program, where classes are taught in Spanish.

She became interested in studying the violin after watching her older brother play. A year and a half ago, Sofia began studying with , who recommended her for her musical talent.

In that short time of studying violin, Sofia also learned to play piano and harp. She is advanced in all the instruments.

Her talents have earned notable musical achievements.

Deschler auditioned for the Tampa Bay Junior Philharmic Symphonic Strings and earned the coveted principal second violinist. She was the youngest in her group.

She also earned second place in the Music Gallery Strings Competition (in the Junior Elementary division).
