Goose's Sports Bar: "It's cheap"
Great for watching sports and grabbing a late-night meal with drinks, Goose's is easy on the wallet but not very interesting.
isn’t a dive bar although it stands out as one. It’s an unabashed large sports bar. Its prices, and especially its specials, are better than those at most dive bars in Largo.
The interior is lined with a mishmash of televisions (a lot of them), game tables, alcohol posters, deer heads and more video games than usually seen in a bar.
Essentially, Goose’s looks like a miniature Dave & Buster’s, except the only video games anyone was seen playing were the deer hunting ones.

The wings were a hot seller and the food added to the arcade vibe. The bar had great vegetarian and fish options, which really stand apart from your average bar menu. Broccoli bites, jalapeno poppers, onion rings and fried mushrooms were all available for $3.25. As far as fish goes, they offer fried clams and cod bites, along with shrimp cocktail.
A grilled cheese with chips will only run you $2.25. While it’s not the most interesting place to have a drink, if you’re hungry Goose’s can’t be beat. The kitchen doesn’t close until 1:30 a.m.

For the meat eaters, wings are 10 for $4 and there’s a heinous $1 charge if you want them served them with blue cheese and celery.
For that same $1 charge customers can opt for all drumsticks, which is an awesome choice to have.
Goose’s also offers burgers and a chicken sandwich that looks great.
It is a sports bar and when the bartenders were asked what the most popular sport was, a resounding “football” was yelled. The huge number of television sets were put to good use, catering to every taste. Hockey, baseball, basketball, poker, competitive shooting and Lady Gaga could be seen on at least one set simultaneously.
Specials run all week. On Mondays during football games they offer a pitcher of Bud and 10 wings for $9.95. Michelob Ultra and Light bottles are $2 and Bud bottles and drafts are $1.75.
On Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 3 a.m. domestic pints, bottles and wells are $1.
Goose’s offers $2 whiskey Wednesdays and on Thursday from 10 p.m. to close they offer $1 wells and domestic drafts.
Fridays from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. domestic bottles, drafts and wells cost $1.50.
From noon to 8 p.m. Saturday Bud drafts cost $1.75. Sunday offers $1.75 Bud pints and bottles along with $2 Michelob Light and Ultra bottles.
When Natalie, a bartender at Goose's, was asked why she’d pick to drink at Goose's, she was quick to reply with “It’s cheap.” The answer didn't change when I asked her about the food.
Drink menu rundown: Goose's specializes in “Red Bull Cocktails.”
The Good: Black and Blue Lemonade (Stoli Blakberi and blueberi vodka, lemon lime soda and a splash of sour)
Pixie Stix (Three-o Grape vodka, Chambord, sour, Sprite and red bull)
The Bad: Southern Hospitality (Soco, watermelon liqueur, and Red Bull)
Call me biased, but for this tester Soco can only be drank with equal parts Soco and lime. Even then, when there are other liquors available it’s not the best option.
The Ugly: Jack and Bull (Like it sounds, Jack Daniels and Red Bull)
There’s a reason Red Bull is usually paired with vodka: clear liquor tastes great with Red Bull. At best, this is a lazy drinker's homemade drink when they’ve run out of coke or vodka. However, we’re talking about a bar here, so let’s keep the jack with dark soda and the Red Bull with vodka.
