Do you remember the romantic scene in the movie Ghost, where Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze made molding clay on a pottery wheel look sexy? You could almost recreate the movie magic with your own romantic moment. Enjoy a creative date night with a local pottery shop, Fired Up Paint Your Own Pottery.
Visit on Friday night, and you and your date will get a complimentary glass of wine and half off one piece of pottery. Pick out your piece of pottery and let your creativity soar. In their "Imagination Station", you'll find tools of the trade: glazes, stencils and sponges. Flip through the look book to get ideas for your piece.
You can choose matching pieces or something to remember your special night. If you'd like to make the night more memorable, you can bring your favorite foods to enjoy at the studio.
When you finish your work of art, you'll leave it for the staff to do the final touches. They'll glaze and fire your piece. Pickup is within seven days.
Costs are reasonable. Pottery pieces cost anywhere from $1 to $50. Studio fees ($8 to $10, depending on pottery size) cover the costs for paint, tools, glazing and firing. You can paint to your heart's delight, as they offer unlimited studio time.
