Largo Public Libraryβs ideaLAB is a place to develop creative ideas, try new technologies, and experiment in an educational and fun environment. Each month library staff members prepare special programming using the ideaLAB technologies provided by the Greater Largo Library Foundation.
The programs include a weekly Open Lab session on Fridays from 3:00pm to 5:00pm during which participants are allowed βfree playβ under the tutelage of a Librarian to explore the available digital tools. These tools include a 3-D printer, EggBot, Raspberry Pi, Silhouette Curio Cutting Tool, LEGO Mindstorms, and much more!
Additionally, classes are developed focusing on specifc products like Brushbots: Make and Race scheduled for Wednesday, October 21st, at 6:00pm. In this class, attendees work with basic electronics to create little robots from toothbrush heads. Library patrons may also attend a class to view a demonstration of the libraryβs 3D printer and learn the basics of 3D printing at 3:00pm on Wednesday, October 28th. Class space is limited and registration is required to attend.
