Kids Choose Dresses for Mom
Children from the Sheriff's PAL program got to select special gifts for their mothers.
Ten local girls went on a special mission at the at Largo Mall Thursday night. Find just the right gift for mom. The girls earned the shopping trip through an essay contest on why their mom is the best.
With donated gift cards and the help of volunteers, the girls from the Pinellas Sheriff's PAL program, browsed the racks and shelves for a dress, top or jewelry for mom. This was the first year for the partnership with Dress Barn in the Largo area.
"We are excited to work with "dressbarn" on this first 'To Mom, With Love' program to benefit families in our area," said Jerry Babcock, Director of the Pinellas County Sheriff's PAL.

"Most of our kids don't have the resources to buy their mother a gift for Mother's Day, so this will be such a great day for the kids, their moms and our volunteers," Babcock said.
The girls' mothers wore their gifts at a special early Mother's Day celebration Friday night.
