Largo Father Charged With Murder In Death Of 7-Week-Old Infant

A Largo man made his first appearance in court Wednesday after being charged with murder in the death of his 7-week-old daughter.

LARGO, FL -- A 28-year-old Largo man made his first appearance in court Wednesday after being charged with first-degree murder in the death of his 7-week-old daughter.

Anthony Allen Suffoletto will remain bars without bond until further notice.

On. Feb. 28, Largo Police officers responded to 3150 South Pines Drive, Unit 82, to assist Largo Fire Rescue with an unresponsive baby. The infant, Gianna Suffoletto, was not conscious or breathing.

She was immediately transported to Morton Plant Hospital and then to St. Joseph's Children's Hospital in Tampa where doctors determined she suffered blunt force trauma to the head, torso and legs. The infant died from her injuries on Tuesday, March 5.

The Hillsborough County Medical Examiner's Office and Largo detectives investigated and determined that the injuries were inflicted by Suffoletto, her biological father, who was the only person with her at the time.

Detective Lance Moore arrested Suffoletto and charged him with first-degree murder and aggravated child abuse.
