A Largo man remains behind bars without bond after a 4-month-old baby boy in his care was treated at a hospital for a broken leg.

LARGO, FL -- A Largo man remains behind bars without bond after a 4-month-old baby boy in his care was treated at a hospital for a broken leg.
Gregory Hesse, 34, was charged Tuesday, Jan. 22, with felony child abuse involving great bodily harm
Hesse told detectives that his son was injured when he was taking the infant out of a bounce seat. He said the baby became entangled so he pulled the child up several times, heard a pop and then the baby began crying. Hesse said he waited for his wife to come home before taking the baby to the hospital.

Largo Police said the 4-month-old boy suffered a spiral displaced fracture to the right femur. Emergency room personnel said the injury is consistent with abuse. The infant also had a bruise on his face in the shape of a hand print.
