Largo Police: Safety Harbor Woman Runs Out of Gas, Steals Car
Largo Police say a Safety Harbor woman ran out of gas so she walked across the road and stole a car.

LARGO, FL -- Largo Police say a Safety Harbor woman ran out of gas so she walked across the road and stole a car.
According to Largo Police, Amie Lynn Brown, 43, was driving along East Bay Drive just after midnight Monday, Oct. 1. When she got near the Walgreens at East Bay Drive and Starkey Road, Brown told police she ran out of gas. She walked across the street to the CVS parking lot where she spotted a 2002 Acura parked with the driver’s door open. She told police that she got in and drove off.
Brown only made it as far as the next traffic light at Lake Avenue when she was spotted by police who pulled her over.

When Brown was being booked, police found a glass pipe with methamphetamine residue hidden in her pants between her legs. She was charged with grand theft auto and possession of drug paraphernalia.
