Largo Police Say Man Arrested After Trying To Rob Bank Twice
Largo Police arrested a 36-year-old man after they said he tried to rob three banks Wednesday morning.

LARGO, FL -- If at first you don't succeed, don't try again. That's the lesson Largo Police passed along to a 36-year-old man arrested after police said he tried to rob the same bank twice.
According to Largo Police, on Wednesday, Jan. 16 at 8:20 a.m., Ronald Joseph Massey attempted to enter the closed Bank of America at 12046 Indian Rocks Road (the bank opens at 9 a.m.).
Police said he was wearing a mask when employees inside say he tried to open the locked front door. When the employees called Largo Police, he rode away on a bicycle.

At 9:06 a.m., a man with the same description entered the BB&T bank at 14141 Walsingham Road, a quarter mile south of the Bank of America. He was armed with a knife. Before the man could demand money, the tellers vacated the area and called the police. The robber left the bank empty-handed and pedaled away on a bicycle.
The man, later identified as Massey, then went back to the Bank of America while Largo Police Officer Jason Misner was still inside the bank investigating the original incident. Police say Massey entered the bank wearing his mask and carrying a knife, and was confronted by Misner who took him into custody.

Massey has been charged with armed robbery, attempted armed robbery and violation of probation for armed robbery. Police discovered that he had been released from prison on Jan. 10 where he was incarcerated for two other Largo bank robberies.
Largo Police say Massey is not the same man who robbed Largo and Clearwater Wells Fargo banks in the past week.
