Lauren's Kids "Walk In My Shoes" 2015 Coming to an Area Near YOU!
Lauren's Kids will pass through Tampa in early April, come join us in spreading awareness, light, and hope!
Every year, Lauren Book, Founder and CEO of Laurenβs Kids walks 1,500 miles from Key West to Tallahassee on her annual βWalk In My Shoesβ journey. Lauren walks to spread awareness about the shocking prevalence of childhood sexual abuse (1 in 3 girls and 1 in 5 boys will become a victim before the age of 18) and how we can prevent 95% of this abuse through education and awareness.
A survivor of sexual abuse herself, Lauren and her father founded Laurenβs Kids in 2007 to protect childhood, prevent abuse and help survivors heal.
Community members and survivors join Lauren as she walks through communities and visits local Childrenβs Advocacy Centers, Sexual Assault Treatment Centers, and Womenβs Centers between Key West and Tallahassee on both coasts of the state. The walk takes place over 42 days in March and April, National Sexual Assault Awareness Month and National Child Abuse Prevention Month, in honor of the 42 million survivors of child sexual abuse living in the U.S. today.

We donβt just encourage survivors and their friends or relatives, in fact, we encourage teachers, kids, parents, friends, grandparents -- any member of your community -- to join us in protecting childhood and children everywhere.
