Sportswriter Accused of Child Sex Abuse

Bill Conlin, a Largo resident and longtime columnist for the Philadelphia Daily News, has been accused of sexually abusing four children in the 1970s, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Former Philadelphia Daily News sportswriter and Largo resident Bill Conlin has been accused of sexually abusing four children, according to a report from the Philadelphia Inquirer.

According to the Inquirer, three women and a man say Conlin abused them as children in the 1970s and that people who knew about the abuse covered it up. One of the accusers is Conlin's niece, according to the Inquirer. Through his attorney, Conlin expressed disbelief at the allegations. 

Conlin, who retired Tuesday, is living at the Shipwatch condominiums near Largo, according to a report from the St. Petersburg Times.
