Main Event: I Hate Hamlet

You won't want to miss this live theater event. I Hate Hamlet, a dramatic comedy that first appeared on Broadway, now has performances at Largo Cultural Center from July 8-17. The play is presented by Largo's community theater, Eight O'Clock Theatre.

Eight O'Clock Theatre Presents I Hate Hamlet a dramatic comedy written by Paul Rudnick in 1991.

The play is about a guy named Andrew Rally who seems to have it all but struggles with accepting his role as Hamlet in a Central Park play. Andrew's life seems to be put together: he's an acclaimed actor on a hit TV Series, he has a rich and beautiful girlfriend, a glamorous, devoted agent, and a New York City apartment.

For Andrew, though there's problems in paradise.

Andrew wrestles with his conscience as he has to choose between the TV show or the play and making his girlfriend and agent happy. In the process he ends up in a sword fight and a seance.

I Hate Hamlet performances will be at the Largo Cultural Center, 105 Central Park Dr., from July 8-17. The Thursday through Saturday shows are at 8 p.m. and Sunday's performance is at 2 p.m.

Tickets are $20 for general admission, $12 Students (19 & under), $18 Group (10 or more).
