LARGO, FL — A 51-year-old homeless man has been arrested after being accused of stabbing a 65-year-old man several times, leaving him with life-threatening injuries.
William Junior Lumar has been charged with attempted murder in the first degree following a stabbing that took place Saturday at 1:35 a.m.
According to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, two men were walking on the sidewalk in front of the Public Storage at 16079 U.S. 19 N. in Largo when they were approached from behind by Lumar.

According to detectives, Lumar was yelling he wanted to kill someone and ordered the two men to clear the sidewalk. As the men left the sidewalk, one of them, a 65-year-old man, tripped and fell. According to detectives, Lumar stabbed him multiple times in the upper body and then fled.
Deputies found Lumar at 2:56 a.m. with blood on his clothing and in possession of a knife with blood on it. Lumar was positively identified as the person who committed the stabbing.

The stabbing victim is in critical condition. His name has not been released.
