Man Shoots Himself at Hospital

Police are investigating a shooting that took place early Friday morning at Largo Medical Center.

The incident unfolded at the hospital around 7:10 a.m. when a man parked his car in the ambulance drop off and then proceeded to shoot himself, an email to media from police said.

Hospital staff swung into action, treating the man for his injuries. At last report, the man who remains unidentified, was in critical condition.

The investigation continues, and police say there is no indication the man was ever a threat to anyone but himself.
