Musical talents come to Heritage Village’s Country Jubilee

The 35th Annual Country Jubilee is bringing a variety of musical talents to Pinellas County’s Heritage Village on Saturday, Oct. 26, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Each band will play 45-minute sets.

Local country and bluegrass artist Charlie Morris, a talented singer-songwriter and guitarist will entertain with stories of the environment and characters that blend in with his songs. Joining him on this year’s music line up will be Evergreen, a three-piece band playing Irish, English and Scottish folk songs; Leigh and Steve Humes playing folk as well; Key of Life with Teresa Arruza, featuring soundscape inspired by nature, The Rose Island Band playing electric American and folk rock music and A Dynamic Duo.

Charlie Morris is a singer-songwriter and guitarist from St. Petersburg. He plays original roots music that draws on a range of styles, from folk to bluegrass to blues. His sophisticated guitar artistry complements the stories he's telling with his songs.

Evergreen plays Irish, English and Scottish folk songs. The three-piece band has guitar, flute, mandolin, penny whistles and vocals. Evergreen has played at a number of folk festivals and at pubs in the Tampa Bay area. All band members are originally from Liverpool, England.

Leigh and Steve Humes have been performing together throughout Florida for more than 20 years. They are respected singers-songwriters, and they play solo, duo and together with the Leigh Humes Band.

Key of Life creates soundscapes inspired by nature with flavors of different cultures. They blend a variety of world instruments with eclectic improvisations.

The Rose Island Band plays electric Americana and folk rock music. The four-person band plays acoustic guitar, electric guitar, keyboards/bass and drums while singing three-part harmonies. The band is comprised of a mix of ages and genders and is popular with all age groups.

When Kevin Bittle and Dave Lau of Dynamic Duo met two years ago, they both were buying Fender Telecaster B-Bender from a specific music store in the area. Since then, this dynamic duo has performed over 100 times at more than 40 venues. With a set list database of more than 300 songs, they are really looking forward to performing their original music.

This year’s Country Jubilee is sponsored by the Pinellas County Historical Society and all proceeds will go to support the operation of Heritage Village. Free event parking and shuttle are located at 119th Street between Ulmerton and Walsingham roads. A $2 per person donation is suggested.

Heritage Village is located at 11909 125th St. N. in Largo. This living history museum brings more than 150 years of local history to life. Tour 28 authentic buildings and structures, and experience historic Pinellas County through hands-on exploration. Paths wind through 21 acres and connect with the Florida Botanical Gardens and the Pinewood Cultural Park campus.
