LARGO, FL — The Largo Police Department has received approval to replace its 24-year-old command center bus.
The Largo City Commission approved the purchase of a new 40-foot-long police command bus and dispatch console for the Largo Police Department.
The commission voted to use $929,000 in Penny for Pinellas sales tax revenue for the new bus and dispatch equipment.

The new state-of-the-art vehicle built by LVD USA of Burlington, Wisconsin, which specializes in custom vehicles for emergency use, includes interior and exterior work stations, a main office, interactive monitors, external cameras and a touch-screen electronic panel.
The new vehicle will be used as a command center for large calls, community events, crime scene investigations and training.
