Another New Firehouse Subs Comes to Largo
A new Firehouse Subs opened recently at the Bardmoor Promenade Shopping Center.
A mural of the yellow Bardmoor Medical Arts Building across the street greets customers as they walk into the new Firehouse Subs in Largo's Bardmoor Promenade Shopping Center, which opened Nov. 7.
Each of the 556 Firehouse Subs has a giant mural reflecting its location. Each mural shows a fire engine from the closest firehouse, which is Engine 30 in Semnole,Β saidΒ Sarju Patel, who co-owns the new franchise restaurant withΒ Nash Kanji.
The names on the backs of the uniforms, Harrison, Malone and Skote, are not Seminole firefighters but longtime local Firehouse Subs employees, Patel said.

Each detail represents an image from the Largo area. The man on the stretcher came from the statue of the man holding tires on a Starkey Road building. The military personnel carrying the stretcher represents Largo's Armed Forces History Museum. Plus, a placard tells visitors aboutΒ theΒ Florida Botanical GardensΒ in Largo, Patel said.
The Bardmoor Firehouse Subs is unique because it has a catering area and a conference luncheon area. So people from nearby corporate offices can come for luncheons. Plus the conference area doubles as a training area. The Bardmoor location is 2,500 square feet compared to the Largo Mall location, which is 1,700 square feet, Patel said.

Patel and Kanji also own the Largo Mall location, which held its grand opening in October.
Known for its steamed subs, the new Bardmoor Promenade store has the popular selection ofΒ firehouse-themed sandwichesΒ like the Hook & Ladder, which has smoked turkey breast, Virginia honey ham, and melted Monterey Jack. Plus,Β the chain's full rangeΒ of subs, salads, chili and more are available.
EachΒ store gives back toΒ the community. Firehouse Subs has its own Public Safety Foundation, which started as a result of Hurricane Katrina when the brothers went to deliver food to Jacksonville firefighters and ended up feeding hurricane survivors. Most of the monies are used to purchase lifesavingΒ equipment in local communities.Β
