Nightly U.S. 19 Lane Closures Announced
The Florida Department of Transportation is working on a $4.8 million repaving project that impacts a stretch of road in Pinellas Park.

PINELLAS PARK, FL — Motorists who travel U.S. 19 in Pinellas Park may want to prepare for some nighttime delays.
According to the Florida Department of Transportation, work on a $4.8 million repaving project on U.S. 19 has begun. The impacted stretch of road spans from Gandy Boulevard to 49th Street North. As part of the project, FDOT says motorists can expect nightly lane closures between 8:30 p.m. and 6 p.m.
“The contractor will also be reducing the width of the median in some locations, restriping the road so that bike lanes can be added, lengthening the turn lane onto Gandy Boulevard and adding new hurricane resistant traffic signals at 80th Avenue North,” FDOT explained in an email to media. “Minor sidewalk repairs are also included as part of this repaving project.”
