Notice of Proposed Property Taxes On the Way

PROPOSED PROPERTY TAX NOTICES ON THE WAY

Pinellas County - Property Appraiser Pam Dubov will mail the annual Notice of Proposed Property Taxes, or Truth In Millage (TRIM) Notice, to Pinellas property owners on Friday, August 22. This important document is not a bill (the Tax Collector mails the bills in November); but rather a notification to property owners of the proposed value of their property, the proposed millage rates set by taxing authorities, whether an exemption is in place, and the proposed property taxes for this year. The mailing of this document marks the official time-period during which property owners have the opportunity to discuss, or even appeal, the value or exemption status of their property, and offer input into the county or municipal budget hearings.

Mailed with the Notice is a TRIM Guide, a newsletter that explains each component of the notice, and provides answers to frequently asked questions.

For more information about the TRIM Notice, or if you own property but do not receive the notice by the end of August, please call the Pinellas County Property Appraiser’s office at 727-464-3207, or visit our website at www.pcpao.org.
