Patch Picks: Five Things To Do With Dad on Father's Day Weekend

Your dad may say he doesn't want you to fuss over him for Father's Day, but that doesn't mean you skip the day entirely. After all, it's the perfect time to thank him for all he's done year round, from helping you solve your calculus homework to teaching you how to change a tire.

1. Family Recognition Day: Enjoy an afternoon of fun at the pool. Take dad or grandpa to the pool for free. A parent or grandparent will enjoy free admission with a paid child admission. Enjoy a mile-long of celebration of entertainers, musicians, artisans, crafters, food vendors, water slides and inflatables, and a movie. The band, Calamity Jane, will rock the crowd. Top the night with a free movie -  Shrek Forever After will start at 9 p.m. The Treasure Island event will be held behind the Bilmar Beach Resort (10650 Gulf Boulevard.), Saturday, June 18. 3. Free Food: Dad will get hungry at some point, so take him out to eat fresh tex-mex at where dads eat for free on Father's Day. Offer is available all day on June 19, and no coupon is necessary. Get one free meal with one paid entree at regular price.
4. Family Fun Day: Take dad to the ball field. Head to Tropicana Field for their family fun day, including a free BJ Upton Bobblehead for the first 10,000 kids 14 years old and younger.
