Pedestrian Killed in Largo Accident

The Largo Police Department is investigating a fatal crash involving a pedestrian.

According to the agency, the wreck happened Wednesday around 8:51 p.m. as a Honda Accord driven by Matthew Stolzman, 36, was heading north in the median lane of U.S. 19. A pedestrian was attempting to cross from west to east at the time, an email from the department said.

The man had just cleared the southbound lanes, jumped the concrete median and was trying to cross northbound traffic when he was struck by Stolzman’s car.

The pedestrian, identified as Neil Ventimiglia, 30, died at the scene.

No charges have been filed as of yet as the investigation is ongoing, Largo police say.
