Pedestrian Killed in Ulmerton Road Crash
The accident happened Monday night near 121st Street North.

An 18-year-old Largo man is dead following a fatal pedestrian crash Monday night along Ulmerton Road.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 8:16 p.m. as Donald Kenan, 44, of Largo was heading west in the center lane of Ulmerton nearing the 121st Street North intersection. At that time, Juantavis Westley was attempting to cross Ulmerton.
The traffic control signal was flashing yellow for Ulmerton and red for 121st Street, troopers wrote in a report.

Westley, however, ran across Ulmerton “in an attempt to cross the roadway before the arrival of oncoming traffic,” the report said.
Kenan, however, didn’t see him due to low light conditions and struck him with his Hyundai.

Westley was transported to Northside Hospital where he later died from his injuries, troopers said.
