Pinellas Genealogy Society Offers 2016 Seminar & Book Sale

This all-day event at the Largo Public Library features Ann Staley, CG, CGL, the primary speaker, as well as three breakout speakers.

The Pinellas Genealogy Society will offer its annual seminar and book sale on Saturday, February 13th. This all-day event at the Largo Public Library features Ann Staley, CG, CGL, the primary speaker, as well as three breakout speakers. Ms. Staley’s four presentations will include topics of piecing together the everyday lives of your ancestors, how to attack research brick walls, organizing, analyzing, and sharing your genealogical data, and exploring popular and not-so-well-known free websites.

The breakout sessions during the seminar will include using the FamilySearch.org website (particularly the Wiki) with Debbe Hagner, researching the pre-1850 census with Debra Fleming, and a look at the records of the National Archives in Kew, London, and how to access them with Liz Pearson.

In addition to the speakers, the event boasts a continental breakfast, box lunch, raffles, door prizes, a huge book sale, and plenty of time to network with other researchers and organizations. The registration fee is $40 for PGS members and $45 for non-members. After February 6th, the cost is $50. A detailed schedule of events and registration form are found at http://tinyurl.com/pgxl4cr. Questions can be addressed to pgsfla@yahoo.com.
