Pinellas Schools, Largo High Receive a "B"

In 2011, Largo High went from a "D" to a "B!" The annual grades for schools are in, and Pinellas County got a "B" overall.

 

The annual school reports are in, and Pinellas Schools have received a "B".

Though the majority of schools got marked improvements, some schools of interest to the beaches have gotten worse.

  • Both Seminole and Osceola high school, which received an "A" in 2010, got a "B" this year.
  • Madeira Beach Fundamental has kept the "A" grade that it has maintained since 2006.

Overall, Florida has improved the school systems as a whole, compared to last year.

  • 147 earned an "A" (31 percent of schools), compared to 145 schools (31 percent of schools) last year.
  • 224 earned a "B" (47 percent of schools), compared to 188 schools (40 percent of schools) last year.
  • 72 earned a "C" (15 percent of schools), compared to 69 schools (15 percent of schools) last year.
  • 25 earned a "D" (5 percent of schools), compared to 57 schools (12 percent of schools) last year.
  • 6 earned an "F" (1 percent of schools), compared to 11 schools (2 percent of schools) last year.
